Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a guest service attendant who greets patients, visitors and guests, provides wayfinding and transport, and acts as a liaison between guests and hospital departments to ensure a welcoming and respectful experience.

Under supervision, this role supports safety protocols, preserves confidentiality, assists with interpreter services, coordinates lobby operations, and participates in staff meetings and training to uphold the organization’s compassionate values.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• A degree or certificate in a hospitality-related field is preferred.
• Basic computer skills, including word processing, required.
• Excellent customer service and people skills required.
• Minimum of 1-year of customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains department policies and quality standards.
• Greet patients, visitors, and guests warmly and provide wayfinding and transport.
• Acts as a liaison between patients, visitors and hospital departments.
• Anticipate guests' needs to provide an exceptional experience.
• Screens visitors and patients per policy and enforces PPE and visitor guidelines.
• Cross-trained in badge system as a backup to security personnel.
• Use interpreter services when needed.
• Ensure lobby spaces are clean and orderly in collaboration with environmental services.
• Monitor lobby traffic with security personnel.
• Answer phones and provide information about patient rooms and visiting hours.
• Notify staff of arrivals and follow visitor guidelines.
• Provide directions and assist with parking, wheelchairs, and department locations; share patient room numbers.
• Manage patient belongings and deliveries to destinations.
• Protect confidentiality of information.
