Job summary

Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in Swindon is seeking a Fire Safety Advisor to join the Health, Safety, Fire and Security Team. The role focuses on advising staff, carrying out fire risk assessments across hospital buildings and supporting compliance with fire safety legislation.

You will develop fire safety training, help maintain evacuation plans, and contribute to a positive safety culture across the Trust, reporting to the Team Manager.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH Fire Safety qualification or equivalent.
• Level 5 Fire Risk Assessment qualification or equivalent.
• Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent trainer qualification.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist fire safety advice and guidance to staff and stakeholders.
• Prepare fire safety reports and recommendations.
• Undertake fire risk assessments across clinical and non-clinical areas.
• Develop, deliver and evaluate fire safety training programmes.
• Support evacuation plan development and fire safety documentation.
• Support the Fire Warden programme development and delivery.
• Maintain oversight of fire-related risks on the Risk Register and assist risk-reduction actions.
• Contribute to compliance with fire safety legislation and NHS Firecode.
