Job summary

Equans in Birmingham is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our Estates team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The role is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, permanent position involving a range of electrical and mechanical tasks under supervision.

You will work as part of a team, use a PDA and CAFM systems, and support planned maintenance while learning new techniques. A DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Previous appropriate working experience or training in either an electrical or mechanical discipline.
• Experience in building maintenance environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and work from instructions, drawings and specifications relevant to the task.
• Carry out a wide range of maintenance tasks within skill scope (electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building works).
• Assist in fire alarm testing and fault-finding on non-complex equipment.
• Report defects or delays to the Supervisor and ensure Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out.
