Job summary

Equans is seeking a Mechanical Craftsperson for a permanent role at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. The position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, based in the NHS Trust environment with a competitive salary and benefits.

You will work across water and mechanical systems, undertake varied craft tasks, and participate in on-call duties. Applicants must hold relevant qualifications and a valid driving licence, with DBS clearance essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ or C&G Level 2 Heating/Vent/Plumbing qualification.
• Knowledge of Legionella/TMV/Disinfection awareness and training.
• Water Hygiene training is desirable.
• Valid driving licence is required.
• DBS standard check is essential.

Responsibilities

• Undertake duties to maintain NHS Trust services and complete paperwork promptly.
• Carry out the full range of Mechanical Craftsperson tasks as directed by management.
• Work in compliance with EQUANS KPI’s and contract requirements.
• Apply knowledge of water/mechanical systems in a healthcare environment and maintenance/testing.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Legionella and other water pathogens.
• Perform temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning/disinfection, tank inspections, TMV/AHU servicing.
• Drive the company vehicle as required to meet service needs.
• Participate in on-call rota.
