Job summary

King’s College Hospital, in partnership with Sodexo, seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead engineering and building services across a busy hospital estate in London. You will own maintenance operations, statutory compliance and energy management while guiding a multidisciplinary team and external contractors.

You will work closely with NHS Trust and Sodexo leadership to deliver safe, efficient and compliant facilities that support outstanding patient care and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline.
• Proven leadership experience managing engineering, maintenance, and specialist contractor teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Knowledge of building services engineering, statutory compliance and HTM requirements.
• Experience of energy management and sustainability initiatives.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational management of engineering and building services across a complex hospital estate.
• Manage multidisciplinary engineering team and contractors for high performance.
• Oversee Planned Preventative Maintenance and reactive maintenance with compliance.
• Act as main contact for NHS Trust and stakeholders to ensure service excellence.
• Maintain AP duties and manage Permit to Work and Safe Systems of Work.
• Support contract performance through KPIs, budgets and compliance.
• Lead lifecycle, small works and engineering projects to agreed standards.
• Drive energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives across plant and equipment.
