Job summary

Equans is seeking a Fabric Engineer for Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow on a permanent basis. The role is full time (37.5 hours weekly) with a competitive salary and benefits package.

You will perform fabric maintenance, including statutory fire door inspections, reactive repairs, plastering, painting, lock repairs, and other related tasks. An on‑call rota provides 24/7 coverage, with paid call time, and opportunities to travel to other Equans sites.

Qualifications

• Joinery apprenticeship completed
• Experience in building fabric maintenance
• Hospital maintenance experience desirable
• Knowledge of SHTM and safety standards
• Disclosure Scotland PVG check clearance required

Responsibilities

• Carry out fabric maintenance and minor works including fire door inspections, plaster repairs, painting, and lock repairs
• Maintain records and complete work reports and task assessments
• Use and maintain tools, perform daily safety inspections
• Adhere to safety procedures for low voltage, mechanical, pressure, water, medical gas, and confined spaces systems
• Support permit-to-work processes with method statements and risk assessments
• Be available for 24/7 on-call coverage and potential travel to other Equans sites
