Job summary

Blackpool Teaching Hospitals is seeking a Shift Electrician to join the Estates team at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. You will perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, assist with emergency response, and maintain essential services to ensure patient care continuity.

The role requires an electrical engineering background, 18th Edition compliance, and a valid driving licence, with opportunities for on-call shifts and paid enhancements in a NHS setting.

Qualifications

• HNC/ONC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Qualified in line with 18th Edition (BS 7671).
• City and Guilds qualification and a current driving licence.
• Knowledge of NHS Estates is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance repair service for electrical, mechanical, and building services.
• Attend fire and other incidents as part of the Estates team.
• Carry out planned preventive maintenance and commissioning tests.
• Liaise with contractors and Estates management for shutdowns and on-call duties.
