Job summary

Sodexo Ltd is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Assistant at Manchester Central Hospital. 37.5 hours per week, Mon–Fri, with an hourly rate of £13.17–£14.05 depending on experience. The role involves maintaining equipment, building fabric and utilities across the Manchester Foundation Trust Hospital estate.

You will fix minor electrical items, perform routine cleaning and assist in emergencies, while providing guidance to new starters and ensuring safety through hospital policies.

Qualifications

• Previous appropriate working experience or training in skill development, including the safe use of tools and equipment.
• Basic knowledge of workshop safety practices.
• Able to demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities

• Fix minor electrical items and assist with small repairs like fitting plug tops.
• Clean light fittings, plant rooms, workshops and machinery.
• Service and repair ward toasters and TVs; report faults and assist in emergencies.
• Organise and manage daily tasks and responsibilities.
