Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Electrical Technician to join the Estates Team at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. You will diagnose faults, repair and maintain building engineering services, plant and equipment, and deliver safe isolations within your trade.

The role covers multiple sites across the Trust with on‑call rotations. You will be a highly skilled, hands‑on technician capable of supervising others and carrying out complex fault-finding to ensure reliable

Qualifications

• HNC/D, NVQ level 4, C&G or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Time served electrician.
• Proven experience in a service/maintenance role.
• Demonstrable and proven experience in a supervisory position.
• Good knowledge of Health & Safety procedures.
• Knowledge of Building Management Systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose faults, carry out testing, servicing and maintaining building engineering services, plant and equipment.
• Deliver safe isolations within your specialist craft skill set.
• Oversee others on fault-finding, repairs, maintenance and installation of complex plant, equipment and buildings belonging to the Trust.
• Undertake Authorised Person duties.
• This post will be based at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital covering services across the Trust’s Luton and Dunstable sites.
• Hours are 37.5 hours week Monday – Friday with on-call rota participation.
