Job summary

The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead seeks an experienced Hospital Director to provide executive leadership from The McIndoe Centre site. You will report to the Chief Executive and oversee quality, governance and clinical areas with direct responsibility for multiple services.

The role requires proven senior healthcare leadership, financial accountability for large budgets, and strong collaboration with Boards and Executives to drive organisational change and improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification in healthcare management or related discipline.
  • Evidence of current registration with NMC Code of Practice or HCPC.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD).
  • Leadership/management qualification or equivalent senior leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visible executive leadership across The McIndoe Centre.
  • Lead the hospital’s operational and financial performance.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality patient care.
  • Maintain robust standards of clinical governance, quality assurance and risk management.
  • Lead, motivate and develop multidisciplinary operational and clinical teams.
  • Oversee clinical support services across the hospital.
  • Deliver service improvement and transformation programmes.
  • Manage significant budgets and ensure optimal resource use.
  • Collaborate with the CEO, Board, Trustees and Executive Team.
  • Support collaboration between The McIndoe Centre and The Horder Centre.

Job description

Are you a passionate Hospital Director or wanting to step up into this role. You will report directly to the Chief Executive and will provide executive leadership at The McIndoe Centre (TMC) including site-level oversight of quality safety, governance and clinical areas.

Location

The McIndoe Centre, East Grinstead, with occasional travel to The Horder Centre in Crowborough

Contract

Permanent, full-time

Hours

Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm

Salary

Competitive salary – available on application

The Role
  • Provide visible executive leadership across The McIndoe Centre.
  • Lead the hospital’s operational and financial performance.

About You
  • Have significant senior leadership experience within healthcare.
  • Have experience leading multidisciplinary teams.
  • Be able to demonstrate that you have been responsible for operational performance across multiple services.
  • Have been financial accountability for large budgets.
  • Demonstrate that you have delivered organisational change and transformation.
  • Have worked effectively with Boards, Trustees and Executive Teams.\
  • Have managed organisational risk and governance.
  • Essential:
  • Degree-level qualification (or equivalent experience) in healthcare management, business, leadership or a related discipline.
  • Evidence of current registration of Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Code of Professional Practice or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Leadership and management qualification (or equivalent senior leadership experience).
  • Understanding of healthcare regulation, governance and quality standards.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of financial management and budgeting
