Job summary

The Horder Centre in Crowborough is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join the inpatient team on Dufferin Ward. This hands-on leadership role combines clinical excellence with team mentoring to sustain high-quality patient care in an award-winning, supportive environment.

You will lead shifts, act as a clinical escalation point, and drive governance and service development in orthopaedics or surgical care.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse (RGN) with at least 2 years’ post-registration experience.
• UK-based orthopaedic or surgical nursing experience desirable.
• Mentorship/PS/PA qualification or willingness to obtain.
• Ability to lead a team and manage shift operations.
• Strong communication and patient-centred care.

Job description

We are seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our dynamic inpatient team on Dufferin Ward at The Horder Centre. This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for a passionate nurse with strong clinical expertise, particularly in orthopaedics, and a desire to contribute to exceptional patient care in an award-winning, supportive environment.

Acting as a clinical role model, mentor, and leader, you will support the Ward Sister and wider team in maintaining exceptional standards of patient care, ensuring smooth daily operations, and contributing to the continuous development of the service.

This position includes shift-based work (days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays) and is ideal for an experienced, proactive nurse with a strong background in orthopaedics or surgical care, looking to step into or continue in a leadership role.

About you:

Location: The Horder Centre, Crowborough

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent (37.5 hours/week, internal rotation)

Salary: Up to £46,410.00 per annum (inclusive of enhancements and dependant on experience)
