Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Domestic Assistant for a part-time housekeeping role at St Mary's Community Hospital in Sunderland. The role focuses on cleaning to infection-control standards and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for patients and visitors across inpatient wards.

Shifts run early mornings (06:00–13:00) with 15–25 hours weekly. Interview-based scheduling; sponsorship not offered, right to work in the UK required.

Qualifications

• Must have right to work in the UK at time of application.
• NVQ Level 2 in housekeeping or Level 2 apprenticeship, or demonstrable skills to that level with willingness to start Level 2 apprenticeship.
• Basic maths and English

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality cleaning services across inpatient wards.
• Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Clean to the standards set in the Cleaner Hospitals and Infection Control guidelines.
• Maintain the whole hospital environment, not only assigned rota areas, to support patient care
