Job summary

Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board is recruiting for a Catering Assistant to support ward-based and main kitchen teams in delivering patient and staff meals in line with Health Board policies. The role includes food preparation, meal service, cash handling, and maintaining clean, compliant catering areas.

The successful candidate will work within NHS Wales hospitality standards, contribute to open communications, and support contingency operations when required.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a catering or hospital setting is desirable.
• Ability to follow Health Board policies and safety procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food and beverages in line with policy and procedures.
• Assist nursing staff with ward meal service.
• Serve beverages and meals to staff and patients.
• Operate the cash register accurately.
• Ensure catering areas are cleaned according to schedules.
