Job summary

Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) is looking for a proactive Catering Clerk to join the Food Production department at City Campus and QMC Campus. You will issue and record meals for patients using an ICT system, maintain accurate catering records and support ward food service across sites.

The role requires GCSE English and Maths, Level 2 Food Safety, and good computer skills, with duties including order processing, reporting, and basic administration.

Qualifications

• English language GCSE (C or above) or equivalent
• Mathematics GCSE (C or above) or equivalent
• Level 2 Food Safety Certificate and good computer skills

Responsibilities

• Use catering software to monitor and record all catering food issued to wards
• Print patient meal orders twice a day and issue to relevant teams
• Receive orders from wards, record and relay to Production team
• Accurately record all food and drinks issued to the Patients Meals Service
• Input all food, drink and stock transfers into catering software and other records
• Produce reports using catering software for Catering team and management
• Keep catering software up to date with menu changes, products and costs
• Carry out general administration duties for Food Production including taking orders by phone
• Answer telephone in courteous and helpful manner
• Communicate changes to wards and departments about service updates
• Control efficient use of resources and report faults, maintain safe office environment
