Job summary

NTW Solutions Limited is recruiting a part-time Catering Assistant to join the Northgate Park Hospital catering team in Northumberland. The role is 30 hours per week on a 4-week rolling rota, with shift pattern 10:00–18:00, including some weekends.

The post offers a Band A rate of £12.92 per hour and pro rata annual pay in line with NHS values. You will help with basic food preparation, packing and cleaning within a chilled environment, handling deliveries, and assisting with ward food

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate well with colleagues, clinical staff, and patients.
• Able to work well in a team but also unsupervised.
• Adhere to standards and procedures; follow instructions.
• Must meet mobility requirements of the post.
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Basic food preparation, packing and cleaning in a chilled environment.
• Manual handling and stock delivery tasks; prep and pack in a walk-in freezer.
• Work in a chilled and freezer environment as required.
• Regeneration of patients' food in ward environments.
