Job summary

St Richard's Hospice is seeking a Kitchen Assistant/Café Assistant in Worcester to join the catering team. The role includes preparing and serving meals for patients, staff, volunteers and visitors, with duties split between kitchen and café environments in a new restaurant and social space.

The position is full-time (37.5 hours per week) with a fixed-term 12-month contract, offering a competitive salary and benefits, plus opportunities to contribute to fundraising events for the hospice.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a catering environment and in a customer service role are essential.
• Excellent customer service and food safety knowledge.
• Ability to make barista-style coffees and sandwiches in a café environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with preparing and serving high quality meals.
• Wash up and cleaning in the kitchen when required.
• In the café, make barista-style coffees, sandwiches and serve customers.
• Support catering for functions and events to raise funds for the hospice.
