Job summary

St Columba’s Hospice is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to help us maintain a peaceful, supportive environment for patients and families. The role covers upkeep of Hospice estates, ensuring environmental, accommodation and service standards align with safety and budget guidelines.

You will join a small team maintaining buildings, equipment and systems, working 37.5 hours per week on a 5 over 7 rota, with competitive Band 3/4 starting salaries and progression after one year.

Qualifications

• Strong technical background in maintenance and the ability to work on diverse systems.
• Compassionate, discreet and understands the sensitive hospice environment.
• Reliable team player who is comfortable working with external contractors.
• Valid driving license.
• Qualified tradesperson may be eligible for a higher starting salary.

Responsibilities

• Help maintain and repair a wide range of buildings, equipment and systems.
• Join a small, friendly team that works collaboratively to manage day-to-day facilities operations.
• From medical equipment to office moves, help keep our facilities running smoothly.
