Job summary

Marie Curie Edinburgh Hospice is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to lead a dedicated maintenance team, ensuring safe, high‑quality facilities are fully operational for patients, visitors, volunteers and staff.

You will manage planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, grounds and essential systems, support health and safety compliance, and drive a responsive facilities service that supports a compassionate environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership and contractor management experience.
• Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to HNC or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and PAT testing.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, including fire safety and legionella control.
• Excellent IT, organisational and communication skills.
• Healthcare or hospice sector experience is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a maintenance team to ensure safe, well‑operated facilities.
• Oversee planned and reactive maintenance across buildings, grounds and systems.
• Support compliance with health and safety, fire and legionella requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors and manage maintenance budgets.
• Deliver high‑quality facilities services for patients, visitors and staff.
