Job summary

An experienced horticulture professional is sought to lead a team and shape the next generation of growers and land-based specialists at our North London campus.

The role combines hands-on delivery with leadership of horticulture programmes, supporting colleagues to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment and ensuring learners progress towards qualifications. Interim contract with potential renewal.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching, training or assessing in horticulture or land-based settings.
• Occupational experience within horticulture.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS within the last three months or registration on the update service.
• Assessor qualification is desirable.
• Teaching qualification is desirable.
• Experience mentoring or supporting staff is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Leading and supporting a team delivering horticulture programmes.
• Teaching and assessing learners across practical and theory-based sessions.
• Monitoring learner progress, retention and achievement and acting where improvement is needed.
• Supporting curriculum planning and development in line with awarding body requirements.
• Promoting best practice and standardisation across teaching, learning and assessment.
