Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Horticultural Service Technician to join our team at the Esher branch in Surrey.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the Service Manager, your responsibility will be to repair and maintain all equipment related to domestic groundcare machinery sold by the company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Repair and maintain equipment for customers associated with Groundcare machinery, including tractors less than 140 HP.
  • Possess knowledge of Utility Vehicles, Tractors, and/or commercial Grass Cutting Machinery.
  • Diagnose faults and perform repairs, which may be chargeable, warrantable, or internal jobs.
  • Lift heavy machinery and use appropriate tools, applying common sense and safety procedures.
  • Liaise with customers and suppliers as needed.
  • Complete job cards thoroughly, including machine details, time, mileage, and any necessary documentation such as PDI sheets, delivery forms, and photographs.
  • Attend training courses as required to maintain compliance and knowledge.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment and handle pressure during peak times.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Maintain good health and fitness levels.
  • Excellent customer service skills, as this is a customer-facing role.

Additional Information
  • Start Date: Immediate, subject to successful candidate’s notice period.
  • Hours: 39 hours/week – 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday; 8am to 4pm Friday (1-hour unpaid lunch). Overtime paid at time and a half after 39 hours.
