Job summary

KLONDYKE GROUP LIMITED in Poynton is seeking a Full Time Permanent Horticultural Area Manager to join the Brookside Garden Centre team. Hours are 42.5 per week over 5 days with regular weekend working, and a competitive salary based on experience.

You will manage the outdoor plant area, be a qualified horticulturalist with retail management experience, and lead your team to achieve sales and customer service excellence while maintaining attractive plant displays and accurate pricing.

Qualifications

• Qualified horticulturalist with retail management experience.
• Willingness to work 42.5 hours per week across 5 days, including regular weekend work.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to coach a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise staff resources for daily running of the department.
• Ensure stock is clearly priced and displays are refreshed.
• Replenish plant stock and merchandise to create attractive displays with clear pricing.
• Develop the team to care for plants and advise customers on suitable picks.
• Assist with housekeeping and wider Garden Centre duties as needed.

We are looking for a Full Time Permanent Horticultural Manager to join the team in our Brookside Garden Centre.

The Role

Hours for the role are 42.5 per week over 5 days with regular weekend working so flexibility is a must.

Competitive Salary based on experience.

As a Horticultural Area Manager, you will be responsible for managing the outdoor plant area. You must be a qualified horticulturalist with retail management experience.

You will need to be able to manage your department to achieve sales and profit targets whilst motivating your team to maximise opportunities and inspiring them to offer the highest standards of customer service.

What you will be doing as a Horticultural Area Manager?

• Planning & supervising staff resources for daily running of the department
• Ensuring all stock is clearly and accurately priced and always looking fresh
• Plant stock replenishment and merchandising to create fabulous plant displays with clear and accurate POS
• Develop the team to look after and care for our plants ensuring they are always healthy and looking great for our customers as well as being able to advise our customer on suitable plants and products for their needs.
• Manager regular cleaning and housekeeping tasks as needed
• As a Garden Centre Duty Manager, you will take on wider responsibilities for managing the Garden Centre and work with the management team to support duty cover and Centre business priorities
