Job summary

Victim Support in England is seeking a part-time Family Caseworker (22.5 hours) to join the Homicide team. You will provide high-quality, bespoke support to service users, with a focus on trauma-informed advocacy and safeguarding across Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire.

The role is home-based with travel across the region and occasional travel beyond. You will complete mandatory training, build resilience, and work with diverse partners to ensure compassionate, person-centred care for

Responsibilities

• Provide trauma-informed advocacy and support to service users.
• Participate in mandatory comprehensive training and Homicide Service preparation.
• Travel within Northamptonshire, North Bedfordshire and surrounding regions as required.
• Maintain high-quality caseload management with a focus on safeguarding and victim support.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Family Caseworker to join the Homicide team working 22.5 hours a week. This post will cover Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire and due to the requirements of the role you should reside in one of these areas.

You will be based in Central East of England team, with a primary focus on Northamptonshire and North Bedfordshire; but will also be required at times to to travel across the region. The role is home based, but with the expectation to travel within these specified regions as well as a requirement for occasional travel outside of these specified regions.

About the role

As a Family Caseworker you will be joining a passionate and committed team who provide a high quality and bespoke support to our service users. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional trauma informed advocacy and support.You will be driven to make a difference every day with the ability to focus on the needs of vulnerable service users.

Once in post you will benefit from the mandatory comprehensive training programme which will build on your existing skills and experience to prepare you for the role. Homicide Service training includes, criminal justice process; trauma informed approach to support; supporting traumatically bereaved families; personal and professional resilience.

You will need

• Resilience & adaptability, with ability to understand the improtance of professional boundaries

• Strong listening skills and ability to demonstrate empathy
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering services and working directly within a statutory, voluntary or multi agency setting(s).
• Ability to balance competing needs and priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A successful track record of building effective working relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

This role involves regular travel and due to the location, a driving license and access to a vehicle is considered an essential requirement.
