Job summary

SGS-Care-Ltd seeks an experienced Deputy Manager to step up and own a multi-bed LD children's home in Middlesbrough. You will lead the service, drive positive outcomes for young people with learning disabilities, and coordinate the Ofsted registration process with support from an in-house Registered Manager and RI.

The role requires confident leadership, autonomous working style, and a track record in LD provision, with progression opportunities and a strong people-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Experienced Deputy Manager stepping up to own a home.
• Confident managing a learning disabilities provision.
• Ability to lead autonomously with support during registration.
• Familiar with Ofsted registration steps (SC1/SC2) and Fit Person process.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-bed LD children's home and ensure quality outcomes.
• Oversee Ofsted registration activities and timelines.
• Coordinate with RI and incumbent Registered Manager during transition.
• Support staff and maintain a stable, safe environment for service users.

• Comfortable leading the Ofsted registration process — SC1/SC2 submitted as soon as you start, with the Fit Person stage typically following around 9 months later
