Job summary

Ackerman Pierce Ltd is seeking an experienced Homelessness Caseworker for a London Local Authority role. You will manage a caseload, assess housing needs, determine eligibility under Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017, and develop PHPs with housing advice for residents.

You will work with landlords, social care and agencies to secure housing solutions, maintain records, and handle safeguarding and complex cases while aiming to prevent homelessness and achieve sustainable

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
• Experience assessing homelessness, prevention and relief duties, and PHPs.
• Experience working with vulnerable households and multi-agency partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of homeless households, assess housing needs and determine eligibility.
• Conduct homelessness assessments and investigations, including prevention and relief duties.
• Develop and review Personalised Housing Plans (PHPs) and provide housing advice.
• Make statutory decisions regarding homelessness duties and interim/main housing duties.
• Arrange suitable temporary accommodation and liaise with landlords and providers.
• Maintain accurate case records and ensure decisions align with legislation.
• Manage complex cases with safeguarding, affordability and suitability considerations.
• Work towards preventing homelessness and securing sustainable housing outcomes.
