Care Home Manager

Location: Bedford
Salary: 60,000 per annum

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Care Home Manager to lead a well-established care service in Bedford.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager with a strong background in residential or nursing care who is confident leading a team, maintaining high standards of care and ensuring the home operates effectively from both a regulatory and commercial perspective.

The Role

As Care Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring residents receive high-quality, person-centred care while maintaining strong occupancy levels and financial performance.

You will be supported by an experienced Deputy Manager, Administrator and wider Hospitality and Housekeeping teams, as well as dedicated Operations and Central support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and direction to the home's staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion and high-quality care.
• Ensure the service remains fully compliant with CQC requirements and all relevant legislation and regulations.
• Manage budgets effectively and work towards agreed financial and operational targets.
• Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to maintain strong occupancy levels.
• Build positive relationships with residents, relatives, professionals and other key stakeholders.
• Respond effectively to concerns and ensure residents' needs remain at the heart of the service.
• Lead the ongoing development and improvement of the home and its standards of care.
• Support the recruitment, development and performance management of the staff team.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Previous experience managing a residential or nursing care home.
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and care standards.
• A proven track record of maintaining and improving care standards, ideally with experience working towards an Outstanding CQC rating.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and experience managing budgets and occupancy.
• Experience with marketing and developing relationships within the private care sector.
• A genuine passion for delivering person-centred care.
• The ability to motivate and develop a team while driving continuous improvement.
• CQC Registered Manager experience is essential.
• NMC registration and relevant nursing experience would be desirable but is not essential.
