Job description

Home Manager | Almond Valley Care Home, Livingston | 66-bed luxury care home
Up to £65,000 per annum + Up to 40% bonus + Private Medical Insurance

Some Home Manager vacancies exist because something hasn't worked. This one exists because it has.

Almond Valley opened its doors in 2024 as a brand-new, purpose-built luxury care home in Livingston.

In a relatively short period, it has gone from a new development welcoming its first resident to an established home with growing occupancy, an exceptional regulatory record and a reputation we are incredibly proud of.

Today, occupancy sits at around 71%. At its first Care Inspectorate inspection, Almond Valley achieved Grade 5 – Very Good – across every area inspected. It holds a 10/10 review score on Carehome.co.uk and has been recognised as a Carehome.co.uk Top 20 Care Home for 2026.

So why are we recruiting a new Home Manager?

Because the person who helped build it is ready for their next challenge.

Our current Home Manager, has spent nearly 20 years with our organisation, beginning their career delivering direct care and progressing through the ranks into management and leadership. Most recently, they have led Almond Valley through its commissioning journey; opening the home, building its team, growing occupancy and establishing the standards and culture that exist today.

They aren’t leaving Care Concern Group.

They have been selected to take on one of the most exciting opportunities within our organisation – joining Monet Care, our new premium London portfolio.

For us, that matters.

We want our own people to progress. We want success to create opportunity. And when someone delivers, we want there to be somewhere for their career to go next.

Progression creates another opportunity…

Who takes Almond Valley from here?

This is no longer a commissioning home finding its feet.

The difficult early work has been done. The doors are open. The team has been built. The culture has been established. Residents and families are recommending the home, and its first independent inspection has demonstrated the quality being delivered.

But Almond Valley's story is nowhere near finished.

At around 71% occupancy, there is still a great opportunity for growth. The challenge for the next Home Manager is to protect everything that has made the home successful so far while taking its performance to another level.

That means continuing to build occupancy without compromising quality.

It means developing and retaining a team that already understands what good looks like.

It means maintaining the confidence of residents and families while strengthening Almond Valley's reputation throughout Livingston and West Lothian.

And it means taking a home that has made an impressive start and establishing it as one of the standout care homes in Scotland.

This isn't about coming in and changing everything.

It's about recognising what's working, protecting it, and knowing where you can make it even better.

What Success Looks Like

Success at Almond Valley starts with protecting what has already been achieved.

The next Care Inspectorate visit should find a home that hasn't simply maintained its standards but continued to evolve.

Residents and families should continue to advocate for the home because of what they experience every day, not because of what a brochure promises.

The team should remain stable, engaged and proud of where they work.

And commercially, 71% shouldn't be the destination.

You’ll understand how to build sustainable occupancy by creating a home that families want to choose, professionals are confident recommending and colleagues are proud to represent.

Quality creates reputation. Reputation creates confidence. Confidence creates growth.

The best Home Managers understand the relationship between all three.

Who This Is For

We're less interested in how many years you've held the title of Home Manager and much more interested in what you've done with them.

You might already lead a successful nursing or residential service.

Ple... The text is: Perhaps you've improved quality, grown occupancy, built an exceptional team, reduced agency dependency or transformed the culture of a home.

What matters is your track record, your judgement and your ability to lead.

You’ll understand your people just as well as your numbers. You’ll be comfortable talking about quality, occupancy, staffing, culture and commercial performance because you understand that none of them operate independently.

You’ll be visible when your team needs you, accountable when something needs to change and confident enough to recognise when something doesn’t need changing.

Because you’re not inheriting a broken home.

You’re inheriting a successful one and that’s a different kind of leadership challenge.

Why Care Concern Group?

Care Concern Group is one of the UK's largest independent care providers, operating more than 140 care services nationwide, with a significant presence across Scotland.

But perhaps the best answer to ‘Why join us?’ is sitting within this vacancy itself.

That’s what career development can look like here.

Our continued growth means we need talented people who want to grow with us. We can’t promise everyone the same journey, but we can promise that when people perform, develop and demonstrate they’re capable of more, we want to create opportunities for them to take that next step.

Perhaps Almond Valley is yours.

And perhaps, in time, it becomes part of a much bigger story too.

Contract
  • Up to £65,000 per annum
  • Up to 40% performance-related bonus

Our values remain simple -

Trust | Respect | Passion | Kindness | Inclusivity

Almond Valley doesn't need rescuing.

It needs progressing.

The first chapter has delivered an award‑winning home, excellent regulatory outcomes, growing occupancy and a team with strong foundations.

The opportunity now is to take something good and make it exceptional.

And if you do?

The career of the person you’re succeeding demonstrates that success within Care Concern Group can lead somewhere.

If that’s the type of challenge you’re looking for, we’d like to hear from you.
