Job summary

Sainsbury’s Home Delivery Driver role based in the UK; you’ll drive a 3.5-tonne van delivering groceries to customers on time and in great condition, keep the vehicle clean and roadworthy, and assist customers with questions or substitutions.

When not delivering, you’ll help in-store. The role requires at least 12 months of driving with a full UK licence, 18+, and eligibility to work in the UK. You’ll join a busy team that values safety, speed, and excellent service.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 with a full UK/EU driving licence held for at least 12 months and no more than 6 points.
• Able to work in a fast-paced, physical environment including moving shopping containers up to 15KG and assisting customers with substitutions.
• Right to Work in the UK is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps on time and in good condition.
• Keep the van clean, organised and roadworthy, performing checks before trips.
• Assist customers with questions and substitutions and inform them of delays when needed.
• Build knowledge of products, services and promotions to offer recommendations.
• When not delivering, support the store team as needed.

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in a great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• When not out making deliveries, you will be helping across the store as needed

Eligibility:

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
