Job summary

Sainsbury’s is looking for a Home Delivery Driver in the United Kingdom to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps in a timely, careful manner. You’ll drive a 3.5 tonne van, check van readiness, and ensure secure delivery cases.

When not on the road, you’ll help in-store and support customers with substitutions, learn about products, services and promotions. We offer extensive benefits and a supportive, inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Online driving risk assessment as part of interview and a driving assessment when you join
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries on time and in good condition
• Complete checks to ensure the van is clean, roadworthy and secure before driving
• Serve customers, answer questions and substitutions, and notify delays
• Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to provide recommendations
• When not delivering, help across the store as needed

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in a great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• When not out making deliveries, you will be helping across the store as needed

Eligibility:
