Job summary

Sainsbury’s is looking for Home Delivery Drivers to join our team in the UK. You will drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers’ doorsteps, ensuring on-time delivery and maintaining vehicle and delivery case security.

You’ll also answer questions, handle substitutions, and keep customers informed of any delays. When not out delivering, you’ll support store operations and learn about our products, services and promotions to provide informed recommendations.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to customers' doorsteps, on-time and in good condition
• Complete checks to ensure van is clean, roadworthy and delivery cases are secure
• Serve customers with queries and substitutions, and update on any delays
• Build knowledge of products, services and promotions to make recommendations
• When not delivering, assist across the store as needed

Job description

What you’ll be doing:

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver groceries to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in a great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and substitutions, and keeping them aware of any delays
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
• When not out making deliveries, you will be helping across the store as needed

Eligibility:

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
