Red Rose Care in the North West is seeking night care workers to support people in their own homes across South Ribble. You’ll provide personal care, assist with meals, medications and daily routines, and help people stay independent with dignity.

Shifts are 10pm–7am, including waking nights and sleep-ins. You’ll earn between £12.80 and £13.36 per hour, with travel time paid between visits and 45p per mile. Full induction and DBS paid, with guaranteed hours available.

Through the night

Settling into bed, help to the toilet, turning and repositioning, and a reassuring voice if someone wakes – nights are when many people need to know someone is close by. It’s about following each person’s routine, respecting their rest and making sure they feel safe and comfortable until morning.

Shifts run from 10pm to 7am, with a mix of waking nights and sleep-ins. On a waking night, you’ll be awake and on hand throughout. On a sleep-in, you’ll have somewhere to rest and be there whenever you’re needed. You’ll stay in one person’s home for the whole shift rather than travelling between visits, though who you support may change from night to night.

Night-time can feel unsettling, and a familiar face can make all the difference, so we’re looking for team members who can commit to regular night shifts.

What you'd be doing

You’ll visit people in their own homes across South Ribble, providing support that’s individual to them, their routines and what matters most in their lives. This could include washing and dressing, toileting and continence care, medication, preparing meals and helping around the home.

It’s also about promoting independence, offering choice and building trusted relationships – becoming a familiar face and making a positive difference to someone’s day.

Personal care is a real part of many visits and can feel daunting at first. You’ll receive full training and shadowing until you feel confident.

What you'd earn

• Between £12.80 to £13.36 an hour, depending on the time of day you're working
• Up to £26.20 an hour on bank holidays
• Paid travel time between every visit
• 45p per mile between visits

• Guaranteed hours contracts from 10 to 20 hours a week, or zero hours if you'd rather stay flexible
• Alternate weekends - both days every other week, or every Saturday, or every Sunday, whichever suits you best

No experience? Not a problem

Some of our team came into care from something else entirely - retail, hospitality, warehouse work or raising a family. You’ll get a full induction, ongoing training and shadow experienced team members until you feel ready.

What we can’t teach is kindness, reliability and genuinely caring about the people you support - turning up day after day and treating every person with the dignity and respect they deserve.

What you need

A full UK driving licence and access to your own car - you’ll be travelling between people’s homes throughout your shift, so this is essential. You’ll also need business-use insurance.

You’ll need to be 18 or over for this role.
