Job summary

Red Rose Care is seeking a Home Care Assistant for Chorley mornings. You will visit clients in their own homes, helping with personal care, meal prep and daily tasks to support independence. A full UK driving licence and access to your own car are essential, with DBS and pre-employment checks required.

Shifts start early, with regular hours and opportunities for extended hours on some days. Guaranteed hours contracts from 10 to 20 hours weekly, and benefits include paid travel between visits,

Early starts, early finishes

Getting up, washed and dressed, having breakfast and getting ready for the day -mornings are when many people need the most support. It’s about following each person’s routine, encouraging independence and helping them start their day the way they want to.

Shifts start from 7am and will often finish around lunchtime . If you’d like more hours and can stay until 3pm, there are opportunities to support people through lunch and into the afternoon – but it’s not essential, and we can work around different availability after midday.

Morning routines are personal, and a familiar face can make all the difference, so we’re looking for team members who can commit to regular early shifts.

What you'd be doing

You’ll visit people in their own homes across Chorley, providing support that’s individual to them, their routines and what matters most in their lives. This could include washing and dressing, toileting and continence care, medication, preparing meals and helping around the home.

It’s also about promoting independence, offering choice and building trusted relationships – becoming a familiar face and making a positive difference to someone’s day.

Personal care is a real part of many visits and can feel daunting at first. You’ll receive full training and shadowing until you feel confident.

What you'd earn

• Between £12.80 to £13.36 an hour, depending on the time of day you're working
• Up to £26.20 an hour on bank holidays
• Paid travel time between every visit

The rest of it

• Guaranteed hours contracts from 10 to 20 hours a week, or zero hours if you'd rather stay flexible
• Alternate weekends – both days every other week, or every Saturday, or every Sunday, whichever suits you best

What you need

A full UK driving licence and access to your own car - you’ll be travelling between people’s homes throughout your shift, so this is essential. You’ll also need business-use insurance.

You'll need to be 18 or over for this role.
