Job summary

Red Rose Care is seeking Home Care Assistants for Preston evenings. You will visit clients at home to provide personalised care, including washing, dressing, and medication, while supporting independent living and following each client’s routines.

Shifts are typically 5pm–10:30pm (some flexibility). A full UK driving licence and access to a car are essential, as staff travel between homes throughout the shift. Training and shadowing are provided to build confidence.

Your days free, your evenings with us

Tea, evening medication, getting washed and changed, and settling down for the night -this round is about helping people end their day comfortably, following the routines that matter to them.

Shifts usually run from 5pm to 10:30pm. If life allows, you can start from 3pm and support people with social visits, but it’s not essential, and we can work around different availability before 5pm.

Bedtime routines are personal, and people rest easier when it’s a familiar face at the door, so we’re looking for team members who can commit to regular evening shifts. With most of your day your own, it can fit well around family life, another role or a course.

What you'd be doing

You’ll visit people in their own homes across Preston, providing support that’s individual to them, their routines and what matters most in their lives. This could include washing and dressing, toileting and continence care, medication, preparing meals and helping around the home.

It’s also about promoting independence, offering choice and building trusted relationships becoming a familiar face and making a positive difference to someone’s day.

Personal care is a real part of many visits and can feel daunting at first. You’ll receive full training and shadowing until you feel confident.

What you'd earn

• Between £12.80 to £13.36 an hour, depending on the time of day you're working
• Up to £26.20 an hour on bank holidays
• Paid travel time between every visit

• Guaranteed hours contracts from 10 to 20 hours a week, or zero hours if you'd rather stay flexible
• Alternate weekends both days every other week, or every Saturday, or every Sunday, whichever suits you best

What you need

A full UK driving licence and access to your own car - you’ll be travelling between people’s homes throughout your shift, so this is essential. You’ll also need business-use insurance.

You'll need to be 18 or over for this role.
