Job summary

Pineshield Health & Social Care Services in Cardiff is seeking caring Home Care Assistants to support individuals in their own homes across Cardiff. No prior care experience is required; a positive attitude and a passion for helping others will get you started.

We offer a fully paid induction and training, plus shadowing and ongoing support from an experienced team. Your duties may include helping people stay independent, personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and keeping

Qualifications

• No care experience required; a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are valued.
• Transferable skills from customer service, retail, hospitality, or similar roles are applicable.
• Strong listening and communication skills help in caring for others.

Responsibilities

• Help individuals stay independent and achieve what matters to them.
• Provide personal care with respect and sensitivity (bathing, toileting, dressing).
• Prepare simple meals and assist with eating or drinking.
• Assist with medication and keep clear, accurate records.
• Spend time chatting, listening, and offering reassurance and emotional support.
• Encourage dignity, privacy, and independence in daily activities.

What you’ll be doing

You might support individuals with things like:

• Preparing simple meals and offering support with eating or drinking
• Assisting with medication and keeping clear, accurate records
• Spending time chatting, listening, and offering reassurance and emotional support
• Encouraging dignity, privacy, choice, and independence in everything you do
