Job summary

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 6 Home Birth Midwife to join Artemis Home Birth, a continuity team for women planning home births. You will provide expert midwifery care in a home setting across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods.

The role requires confidence in autonomous practice and NIPE/NLS as noted, with a pro rata salary in the Band 6 bracket. A vehicle is advantageous for home visits.

Qualifications

• Registered Midwife with current registration and evidence of midwifery practice.
• Mentorship qualification or equivalent training.
• NLS accreditation.
• Further education in midwifery is desirable.
• Significant clinical experience across home birth and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Undertake full clinical midwifery duties as part of a continuity team.
• Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate care in line with best practice.
• Provide professional role modelling and ongoing professional development.
• Manage care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal periods with home birth support.
• Participate in 24-hour on-call rota to ensure continuity of care.
• Support parents’ choices, including UNICEF Baby Friendly initiatives.
• Drive home visits and outpatient assessments using own car.
