Job summary

JTL is seeking a Plumbing Training Officer to support Level 2 Plumbing Operative and Level 3 Plumbing and Domestic Heating Technician apprenticeships, developing knowledge, skills and behaviours for occupational competence and progression.

You will manage a region-wide caseload, conduct workplace visits, provide assessment and feedback, and help apprentices overcome barriers to successful completion.

Qualifications

• A recognised plumbing apprenticeship, Level 3 NVQ in Plumbing or equivalent occupational qualification.
• Level 3 Unvented Hot Water Systems qualification or equivalent.
• Where teaching/assessing gas provision is involved, a Level 3 Gas qualification and Core Gas Safety competencies.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of Level 2 and Level 3 plumbing apprentices across your region, supporting progress and completion.
• Build relationships with apprentices and employers as the main point of contact.
• Conduct workplace visits and progress reviews, reviewing progress and agreeing actions.
• Assess knowledge, skills and behaviours and provide constructive feedback to support improvement.
• Support learners to understand gateway and end-point assessment requirements and readiness to progress.
• Ensure suitable workplace opportunities to develop required skills per the apprenticeship standard.
• Monitor attendance, off-the-job training and Progress in Functional Skills.
