Job summary

Econ Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Mobile HGV Technician to service our winter fleet, based from home and covering surrounding areas in the UK. You will handle breakdowns, routine maintenance, and diagnostics to keep vehicles on the road during peak winter periods with support from our local team.

The ideal candidate has at least 3 years’ HGV/PSV repair experience, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently with flexible hours to match seasonal demand.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience repairing and maintaining HGV/PSV.
• Experience as Mobile HGV Technician or similar role is advantageous.
• Proactive, experienced commercial vehicle engineer with team collaboration skills.
• Comfortable with flexible hours due to seasonal demand.

Responsibilities

• Breakdown and repair services: respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out repairs to minimise downtime.
• Fault diagnosis and repair using diagnostics equipment and manufacturer guidance.
• Preventative maintenance and routine servicing following manufacturer recommendations.
• Documentation: use a tablet to complete paperwork and keep maintenance records up to date.
