Job summary

The Local Authority in the South West is seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Team Leader to manage a busy Enforcement & Regulation service, focusing on HMO licensing and enforcement.

You will lead a team of officers, oversee housing complaints and complex enforcement cases, and work with residents and partners to deliver effective housing enforcement initiatives, including Renters’ Rights Act 2025 and Disabled Facilities Grant work.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in HMO licensing and housing enforcement.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation and regulatory frameworks.
• Local authority housing enforcement experience is desirable.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a team delivering HMO licensing and enforcement.
• Oversee housing complaints, inspections and complex enforcement cases.
• Ensure compliance with HMO and mobile home licensing requirements.
• Support wider housing initiatives, including the Renters’ Rights Act 2025 and Disabled Facilities Grant work.
• Work closely with internal teams, residents and external stakeholders.
