Varnom Ross in Lancashire is recruiting a Private Sector Housing Officer to support the housing team on an initial 3–6 month contract, with potential extension. The role focuses on clearing a backlog of HMO inspections and ensuring compliance with housing legislation and licensing requirements across the borough.

The successful candidate will inspect properties, assess licensing conditions, prepare reports, and liaise with landlords, managing agents and tenants while maintaining accurate case

Formación

• Experience working in Private Sector Housing within a Local Authority setting.
• Strong experience undertaking HMO inspections and knowledge of licensing legislation.
• Ability to manage inspections and workload independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Responsabilidades

• Undertaking HMO inspections in accordance with relevant housing legislation
• Assessing compliance with HMO licensing conditions and management regulations
• Identifying housing hazards and areas of non-compliance
• Preparing inspection reports and recommendations for further action where necessary
• Liaising with landlords, managing agents and tenants
• Maintaining accurate records and case management systems
• Supporting the wider Private Sector Housing service where required
