Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer for an initial 6-month interim assignment with an Essex Local Authority. The role focuses on HMOs and unlicensed properties, including inspections and enforcing licensing breaches.

You'll carry out HHSRS assessments, prepare statutory notices, and take enforcement action when needed. Solid Local Authority experience and strong HMOs knowledge are essential, with the ability to run enforcement cases independently.

Qualificações

• Solid Local Authority experience in Private Sector Housing or Housing Enforcement.
• Experience inspecting HMOs and enforcing licensing.
• Strong understanding of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS.
• Confident inspecting and running enforcement cases independently.
• Experience serving notices and taking cases through enforcement where required.

Responsabilidades

Vivid Resourcing is partnering with a Local Authority in Essex to recruit an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer for an initial 6-month interim assignment.

The post is focused on HMOs and unlicensed properties. You'll be inspecting properties, investigating suspected licensing breaches and taking enforcement action where it's needed.

The role involves:

• Inspecting HMOs and other privately rented properties
• Investigating unlicensed HMOs and suspected breaches of licensing conditions
• Carrying out HHSRS assessments and identifying Category 1 and Category 2 hazards
• Responding to complaints about housing conditions, disrepair and poor property standards
• Preparing and serving statutory notices under the relevant housing legislation
• Taking formal enforcement action against landlords and managing agents
• Supporting HMO licensing investigations and applications
• Gathering evidence and keeping thorough, accurate case files
• Building cases for civil penalties, prosecutions and Tribunal proceedings
• Working with landlords, tenants, letting agents and internal and external partners
• Making sure properties meet the standards required under the Housing Act 2004 and related legislation

About you:

• Solid Local Authority experience in Private Sector Housing or Housing Enforcement
• Sound working knowledge of HMOs, HMO licensing and enforcement
• Strong understanding of the Housing Act 2004 and HHSRS
• Confident carrying out inspections and running enforcement cases independently
• Experience serving notices and taking cases through formal enforcement where required
