Job summary

Park Avenue is recruiting for a Private Sector Housing Officer (HMO Licensing) in Kent. The role focuses on managing HMO licence applications, conducting inspections and enforcing housing standards within a busy regulatory team.

You will tackle the HMO licensing backlog, support wider housing standards enforcement, and work in a hybrid setup with three days onsite. Immediate start available on an initial six‑month contract.

Qualifications

• Experience in HMO licensing and compliance.
• Experience performing HMO inspections and enforcing housing standards.
• Knowledge of Housing Act 2004 and related enforcement processes.

Responsibilities

• Process HMO licence applications and manage caseloads.
• Conduct HMO and housing standards inspections and assess compliance.
• Investigate housing complaints and carry out HHSRS assessments.
• Serve statutory notices and manage enforcement cases from start to finish.
• Provide clear guidance to landlords, agents and tenants and maintain records.
