Job Title: HLTA

Start Date: ASAP
Annual Salary: 21,000 - 24,000
Contract: Permanent

We're working with a specialist SEN school in Bedford that's looking for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team ASAP. You'll play a key role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and communication challenges.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading small group learning activities and targeted interventions
  • Covering classes in the absence of the teacher
  • Supporting pupils' learning, engagement, and behaviour management throughout the day
  • Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and the leadership team to plan and deliver tailored learning activities
  • Assisting with the preparation of specialist resources and maintaining a structured, supportive classroom environment

What we're looking for:

  • HLTA qualification or relevant school-based experience within SEN settings
  • Confident leading groups and covering whole classes
  • Calm, reliable and proactive approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
