Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for flexible, day-to-day and short-term supply across Leeds. You will support primary classes, deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, and maintain high engagement with learners.

Ideal candidates hold HLTA status (or Level 4 qualification) with UK classroom experience and a track record in behaviour management.

Qualifications

• HLTA status (or equivalent Level 4 or recognised teaching qualification).
• Demonstrable UK classroom experience covering whole classes (EYFS/KS1/KS2).
• Confident behaviour management and ability to keep learners engaged.
• Experience delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support teaching across primary year groups as required.
• Deliver tailored intervention sessions to improve literacy and numeracy outcomes.
• Support schools with classroom routines, planning where appropriate, and DBS compliance.

Key requirements

HLTA status (or equivalent level 4 qualification / recognised teaching qualification).

Demonstrable UK classroom experience covering whole classes across EYFS, Key Stage 1, or Key Stage 2.

Confident behaviour management skills and the ability to maintain high engagement levels.

Experience delivering tailored intervention sessions in literacy and numeracy.

A valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to complete a new check through Randstad).
