Job summary

Lytham Hall Park Primary School and Nursery is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support pupils from Nursery to Year 6, deliver PPA cover and period class cover, and coordinate our OPAL Play provision with the Senior Leadership Team.

The role is permanent, term-time only, four days a week starting 4 January 2027, with non-contact time to support both teaching and OPAL coordination. The school offers a welcoming community and supportive staff.

Qualifications

• Recognised and relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
• Level 2 or equivalent qualification in English/Literacy and Mathematics/Numeracy.
• Experience of working with children aged 3-11 years.
• Experience of working in a classroom environment.
• Experience of supporting pupils with a range of needs.
• HVLA HLTA status is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver PPA cover and undertake short-term class cover when required.
• Lead whole-class learning across Nursery to Year 6.
• Coordinate and develop OPAL provision and lead day-to-day delivery.
• Provide dedicated non-contact time to support teaching and OPAL coordination.
