Job summary

Redhill Primary School, part of the Shaw Education Trust family, seeks a part-time HLTA to support learning across classes and during teacher absences. The role includes preparation, planning, and delivering learning, plus targeted support for individuals and small groups.

The position runs 38 weeks plus five INSET days, with benefits including pension schemes, holiday entitlement, health plan, eye tests, cycle to work, and professional development opportunities within the Trust.

Responsibilities

• Teaching classes unassisted, especially when teachers are ill or on leave
• Planning and delivering learning and enrichment activities, with teachers or independently
• Assisting teachers inside and outside the classroom
• Working with small groups or individuals needing special attention
• Developing specialist curricula in areas of interest
• Assessing pupils' progress and discussing development with teachers, parents and carers
• Preparing classrooms for lessons, including setting up televisions for video presentations and sourcing books and handouts
• Consoling pupils who are unwell, injured or upset
