Job summary

  • Provide consistent behavioural support, using positive strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging situations.
  • Act as a role model, promoting positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and mutual respect.
  • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to teaching staff to support next steps.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to maintain a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

About the role:

A supportive and forward-thinking SEMH school in Holbeach, working with children and young people who require additional support with their social, emotional, and mental health needs. The school promotes a nurturing and structured environment where pupils are encouraged to build resilience, confidence, and independence. As an HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting both learning and behaviour, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality, engaging provision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver small group and whole-class learning activities in the absence of the teacher.
  • Support the planning and delivery of differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEMH needs.

Pre-requisites:
  • Previous experience working within an SEMH, SEND, or alternative provision setting.

  • Confidence leading groups and delivering lessons independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
