Job summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our Education team. The HLTA will support upper school classes working toward qualifications, collaborating with the class tutor, and implementing pupil education and health care plan strategies to raise engagement and learning outcomes.

We are a specialist day school for learners aged 7 to 19 with needs on the autistic spectrum, offering a tailored approach and small teaching groups.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification ideal; willingness to complete training.
• Experience leading individual/small group interventions and mentoring others.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children; DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to support learning and progress across the curriculum.
• Lead small group or one-to-one interventions based on students' needs.
• Collaborate with wellbeing teams to support emotional regulation and engagement.
• Maintain positive relationships with students, acting as a role model and supporting wellbeing.
• Plan, deliver and assess interventions, tracking student progress.
