Randstad UK is seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a 4-week fixed-term placement in Okehampton. The role runs 08:30–15:30 with weekly pay and no take-home planning.

You will support lessons, manage behaviour, and collaborate with teachers and leaders to maintain high standards of learning. This is a focused teaching-support position requiring HLTA status or an equivalent Level 4+ qualification, DBS clearance, and strong communication and rapport-building skills.

Formación

• HLTA status or Level 4+ childcare/education qualification (or equivalent demonstrative whole-class cover experience).
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour with calm, firmness and fairness.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to process before start.
• Full availability for the 4-week contract (08:30–15:30 daily).
• Excellent communication, adaptability and rapport with staff and students.

Responsabilidades

• Cover teaching: deliver pre-planned lessons across targeted classes.
• Behaviour management: maintain order and focus during lessons.
• Support and collaboration: work with class teachers, SENCOs and leaders.
• Intervention: provide targeted 1:1 or small-group support when not covering.
• Consistency: sustain a positive learning environment from day one.
