Randstad UK is seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) in Okehampton for a 4-week fixed-term placement, starting after half term. You will cover planned lessons, support diverse learners and work closely with teachers to sustain high learning standards.

The role requires HLTA status or Level 4+ qualification, a robust approach to behaviour management and a willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS. It offers consistent school hours (08:30–15:30) and weekly pay.

Formación

• HLTA status or equivalent Level 4+ qualification for whole-class cover.
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour with composure and fairness.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Available for the full 4-week contract, 08:30–15:30 daily.
• Strong communication, adaptability and rapport-building with staff and students.

Responsabilidades

• Cover teaching with pre-planned lessons across targeted classes.
• Maintain behaviour standards and keep students on task.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and leadership to support learners.
• Provide targeted intervention groups or 1:1 support when not covering.
• Create a positive, focused learning environment from day one.
