Randstad UK is seeking a confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming school in Okehampton for a 4-week fixed-term placement, starting immediately after half term. The role runs 08:30–15:30 daily with competitive pay and no take-home planning.

Responsibilities include delivering pre-planned lessons, managing behaviour, and collaborating with teachers and SENCOs to support diverse learners. DBS check required and availability for the full contract is essential.

Formación

• HLTA status or Level 4+ childcare/education qualification (or equivalent demonstrative experience in whole-class cover).
• Proven ability to manage challenging behaviour with composure, firmness, and fairness.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to process one) before start date.
• Full availability for the 4-week contract (08:30 - 15:30 daily).
• Excellent communication, adaptability, and rapport-building with staff and students.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver pre-planned lessons during cover periods with clarity and confidence.
• Maintain pupil focus and reinforce consistent learning during the day.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs, and leadership to support diverse needs.
• Provide targeted interventions when not delivering whole-class cover.
• Create a positive, focused learning environment from day one.
