Job summary

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Bournemouth and Poole to appoint a full-time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) from September 2026. You’ll cover classes when required, deliver engaging interventions and support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, while working closely with teachers and leaders to ensure every pupil has the best possible learning experience.

This role offers ongoing CPD, a supportive team and a pathway to develop leadership skills

Qualifications

  • HLTA status or extensive experience in a UK primary school.
  • Confidence in leading whole-class learning.
  • Positive, adaptable and team‑oriented.
  • Build strong relationships with children and colleagues.
  • Desire to make a genuine difference every day.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lessons during teacher PPA time and planned absences.
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • Run small group and one-to-one interventions.

This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a valued member of the school team, helping children grow in confidence, covering classes when required, delivering engaging interventions and working alongside teachers to ensure every pupil has the best possible learning experience.

What You’ll Be Doing

Every day is different, but your role may include:

Delivering engaging lessons during teacher PPA time and planned absences.

Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Running small group and one-to-one interventions.

Helping children overcome barriers to learning.

Working closely with teachers and senior leaders to provide the very best outcomes for pupils.
